Astatine Trio
Since its formation in 2021, the award-winning Astatine Trio has emerged as one of the UK’s most exciting young ensembles, most recently being named BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists for 2025-27. They were awarded second prize and the special prize for best performance of the prizewinning work of the composition competition at the 2025 Franz Schubert and Modern Music Competition in Graz, becoming the first UK-based ensemble to win a main prize in the competition’s history, and their other accolades include first prizes at the Birmingham International Piano Chamber Music Competition, Virtuoso&Belcanto International Chamber Competition (Lucca, Italy) and Senior Intercollegiate Piano Trio Competition in 2022.
The trio have performed extensively across the UK and abroad, including at Wigmore Hall, The Glasshouse (as part of the BBC Proms), Kings Place and Aldeburgh’s Jubilee Hall, and as Britten Pears Young Artists for the 2023/24 season they made their debut appearance on BBC Radio 3 ‘In Tune’ in February 2024. They are current Hans Keller Chamber Fellows at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and are a resident ensemble at ProQuartet – Centre Européen de Musique de Chambre (Paris) for the 2025-2027 seasons. The trio have also been selected as Kirckman Concert Society artists for 2025/26 and are the recipients of the 2025 RPS Henderson Chamber Ensemble Award.
From 2022-25 the trio benefited from the mentorship of legendary pianist Alfred Brendel, at his personal invitation. They have undertaken residencies at Snape Maltings and at the University of Cambridge, as part of ChamberStudio’s inaugural Hans Keller Forum, and attended the 2025 IMS Prussia Cove masterclasses in the class of Thomas Adès. Currently, they are ChamberStudio Fellows for 2025-26, though which they are being mentored by Anthony Marwood, and are a member ensemble of the European Chamber Academy.

Berniya Hamie

Brighton-born pianist Berniya Hamie (b. 2002) has performed across the UK and abroad both as a soloist and chamber musician, including at Wigmore Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, Royal Festival Hall and the Purcell Room. A recipient of the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Piano Scholarship in 2024, she has been awarded numerous other national and international prizes.
Berniya is currently undertaking postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School with Katya Apekisheva, Ronan O’Hora and Charles Owen as the Frederic William Trevena Award Holder, supported by a Countess of Munster Musical Trust Derek Butler Award, Help Musicians UK Postgraduate Award, Wayne Sleep Foundation Award and Craxton Memorial Trust Award. |

Maja Horvat communicates the impact of music in her performances so that everyone can find comfort in art. She explores the magic of her instrument, giving contemporary pieces a good start in life and playing unknown gems from the 20th century as well as celebrated masterpieces.
Maja gave her debut performance at Wigmore Hall in 2021 as first violinist of the Brompton Quartet, of which she was a founding member. She has performed with some of the world’s most prominent chamber musicians including Sir Andras Schiff, Steven Isserlis, Tabea Zimmerman, Christian Tetzlaff, Vladimir Mendelssohn and David Cohen. |
Riya Hamie

Brighton-born cellist Riya Hamie (b. 2005) enjoys a versatile career of chamber, solo, and orchestral playing. She currently studies with John Myerscough as a full scholarship student at the Royal Academy of Music, as a recipient of the Sir Elton John Award. In 2024, Riya was one of three Academy cellists to be selected for a masterclass with Steven Isserlis for the BBC Series ‘Arts in Motion’.
Riya studied with Michał Kaznowski at the Royal College of Music Junior Department from 2018 – 2023, and previously with Caroline Brown, the late founder of the Hanover Band. She won numerous prizes at the RCMJD, including the Barbara Boissard Junior Concerto Competition, Marjorie Humby Memorial Competition and the prestigious Peter Morrison Concerto Competition – resulting in a performance of Dvorak’s Cello Concerto with the RCMJD Symphony Orchestra in March 2022. Following this, she was awarded a recital at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room in February 2023, performing to a sold out audience. |
