About Charlotte Rowan and Charlotte Stevenson

Described as a 'captivating and compelling artist', Charlotte Rowan is a violinist who delivers performances of prowess, power and poignancy. She is in demand both in the UK and in the USA as a soloist, orchestral player and chamber musician. She is accompanied by her mother, Charlotte Stevenson.

​Charlotte performs extensively as a recitalist in the UK, regularly invited to appear at prestigious venues, music societies and festivals.
​
With her duo partner, pianist Charlotte Stevenson, they have given concert tours around Northern and Central Scotland, Yorkshire, Wales, Southern England, Essex and East Anglia. They have performed in many of the country's finest cathedrals including Ely, Chichester, Winchester, Ripon, Chelmsford, Lincoln and Manchester and have given acclaimed appearances at festivals including Edinburgh, Wetherby, Buckingham, East Devon, Harwich, Horsham and Crail.

n December 2019, Charlotte was invited to perform in Germany, giving a solo recital at St. Martin's Kirche, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and in 2020, has planned engagements in Paris, France as well recitals throughout the UK and Ireland.
In bringing music to new audiences she has been widely praised by critics for her unique concert programming, rich musical integrity and gripping communicative power." A regular soloist with orchestras in both America and Britain, Charlotte has a diverse concerto repertoire ranging from Baroque to 21st Century works. In recent months she has performed concerti by Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Dvorak, Glazunov and Elgar. In October 2019 she was invited to become artist-in-residence at Wetherby Arts Festival where she performed the Bruch Violin Concerto with Leeds Symphony Orchestra under conductor Martin Binks MBE. 

Charlotte is as dedicated to teaching as she is to performing. A noted musical educator, she embraces the philosophy that everyone deserves the opportunity to play the violin and can gain great enjoyment in doing so.

Her work has taken her to teaching environments of staggering variety in culture, ethnicity and race. She has taught children from war-torn countries and brought together children of many different faiths showing that music speaks the language of all. Charlotte currently teaches violin and viola in Cambridge at Perse School, The Leys School, St Faith’s School and King’s Ely establishing her own violin programme from beginner level through to Diploma LRSM students.
