I've lived in Whitstable since 2020, and I love being part of the eclectic community that lives here.
I'm delighted to play a small part in bringing Whitstable Music Society's concert series to life - it's amazing to have such great artists happy to come and perform here, right on our doorstep. Attending these concerts is a great and very personal experience. It's a quiet and respectful audience; there's no noisy gig chatter, and you're so close to the musicians that you can get right into the detail and the drama of what they're doing. |
I'm a working musician and I play mainly classical music. I play modern flute and historical flutes and I'm working on expanding my collection of Indian and Chinese flutes! I also play double bass and bass guitar, so I'm lucky to have good experience of working in jazz and pop, and my musical tastes are similarly broad. I occasionally make electronic music, which is something I'm keen to do a bit more of.
Since 2010 I've been employed by BBC Radio 3 to work on their flagship live drivetime show 'In Tune'. Working in live radio uses all the same skills as being a musician with the added pressure of being on
the clock! It's a lot of fun making radio, and since January 2025 I've been making my own classical music show for Radio Faversham called The Classical Mix.
