Funding the charity
As a registered charity, our funding is by donations of various kinds, sponsorship from local businesses and services, and more importantly than ever our fantastic volunteer help.
Our Annual Target
Sufficient incoming funds is most important to the continued survival of our charity as currently each concert costs more to host than we receive from season ticket & ticket sales for any particular performance.
Our target for fundraising is in the order of about £5,000 each year and this is very much a team effort and this team includes the members -Friends of Whitstable Music Society - our sponsors some of whom continue to support and back us each season, the ongoing generosity of The Countess of Munster Musical Trust and Canterbury Arts Council, and many individual donations and contributions.
Were it not for the gifts-in-kind of our energetic volunteers, we would not be able to keep the production and hosting costs so modest. Our administration costs are similarly kept to a minimum on the same basis of the amount of professional time which is freely given to support the Society each season.
