Nicholas Mogg (baritone) & Jâms Coleman (piano)
Our last concert in 2019 is this coming Saturday when the baritone Nicholas Mogg will be giving a recital of songs by Ivor Gurney, Roger Quilter, Frank Bridge, Robert Schumann, Franz Schubert and others, accompanied by the pianist Jams Coleman.
Winner of the 2017 Royal Over-Seas League Singers Section, Nicholas Mogg has recently completed his studies on the Opera Course at the Royal Academy of Music where he studied with Mark Wildman and Iain Ledingham, having previously read music at Clare College, Cambridge where he was a choral scholar. In 2018, he received a Young Artist Development Award through the Glyndebourne New Generation Programme, supporting his time at the National Opera Studio. In September 2019, he joins the International Opera Studio at the Staatsoper Hamburg.
Jâms Coleman is a pianist who enjoys a rich and varied musical life performing as a soloist, chamber musician and vocal accompanist. He finds it inspiring and fascinating to collaborate with different musicians and values the rewards of this process.
As a vocal accompanist, he enjoys collaborating with many singers and his engagements include recitals with Ailish Tynan, James Gilchrist, Sir John Tomlinson, Robert Murray, Nicholas Mulroy, Robert Murray, Andrew Kennedy, Nicholas Mogg and Katie Stevenson at festivals such as the Leeds and Oxford Lieder Festivals.
